I understand enough to know
The road was wearing thin.
Where you are I could not go,
Even though I would pretend.
Compared to you I would be slow
From me, you’re around the bend,
But each night the moon moves slow
when I should sleep and mend.
But life is not something that I own,
Not mine to give or spend.
And so I wait and hope you know
I’ll hold on till the end.
I understand enough to know
Yet I wish that I could go.
